Technology has advanced by leaps and bounds over the last 25+ years, during which Dr. Lim has dedicated his career to staying on the cutting edge of the latest dental breakthroughs. He uses the advanced dental technology in San Jose detailed below to take our patient experience to the next level when it comes to comfort and quality, and you’ll be amazed by everything our Center for Advanced Dentistry team can do these days.

Digital Dental Impressions

We need to create a model of the mouth before placing an implant, denture, or crown that could alter the look and function of the smile. Rather than using messy dental putty and a mold to do this, it’s now possible to just scan the teeth using a small handheld device. In minutes right before your eyes on a nearby monitor, it takes thousands of data points and turns them into the perfect impression of your teeth that we can use to plan your treatment down to the finest detail.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our CT/cone beam scanner enables us to create a highly detailed map of your dental anatomy that shows us all of your teeth, the health of the underlying bone, and much, much more. It can give us a deep understanding of the current condition of a patient’s oral health, and we often use it to plan more complex treatments like dental implant placement. It allows us to be so exact that success is all but guaranteed.

Soft Tissue Laser

Today’s soft tissue lasers help us perform a wide array of procedures with more speed, comfort, and efficacy than ever before. We can painlessly treat gum disease and remove bacteria from around the tooth roots, rebalance a “gummy” smile to reveal more of the teeth, and even fix lip/tongue ties so gently that even children don’t need anesthetic to remain comfortable.

Cavity Detection System

Instead of poking your teeth to search for cavities, we can take a more sophisticated approach. Our cavity detection system uses light to scan your teeth and reveal signs of thinning or decay that would normally be hidden from the naked eye or too small to find with regular instruments. Because of it, we can intervene quickly and stop many dental problems from developing before you even notice them. This preserves your teeth and your wallet by saving you from needing more extensive procedures in the future.

Intraoral Camera

We don’t just tell patients what is going on in their mouths—we show them! Our intraoral camera makes it easy to take a “backstage tour” of your smile and see exactly what we see. Rather than having to just take our word for it, we can show you your teeth on a nearby monitor, making it easy to tell your dentist what you would like to change. It keeps you in the driver’s seat when it comes to your oral care, plus we can show you how much better things look after we’ve provided treatment.
